Extension to existing building
The project involved extending an existing family house in an elevated location on the outskirts of Shaldon.
The additional accommodation includes a new kitchen, dining and living area, extra storage and a new utility room containing WC and boot room.
The building works sensibly with the orientation to prevent overheating and glare whilst providing environmental benefits.
and is constructed from high quality materials that are built to last with sound weathering details in an exposed location.
The buildings accommodation is arranged to work with the existing site constraints. This includes access to and from the rear garden, locating a dining area off the kitchen to improve flow, ease of access into the building, careful consideration of sun paths and maximizing views to the sea etc.
